Energy Psychology’s EFT is Going to School
A new website is about to launch. It could be big and it is already multinational. It’s called "School Made Much Easier" and it’s designed for students, parents, educators and EFT practitioners. The website is www.SchoolMadeMuchEasier.com. Check it out and get your name on the advance notice list. The expected launch is in a couple of weeks.
School Made Much Easier is the brainchild and passion of Paul Widdershoven, an experienced EFT practitioner.
Emotional Freedom Technique, commonly known as EFT, is an energy-healing technique developed by Gary Craig (my teacher) in the 1990s. It has been so effective in reducing emotional distress that it is now used by psychologists, counsellors, medical doctors and educators around the world. What’s even more exciting is that tens of thousands of non-professionals use EFT as a valuable self-help tool.
EFT is a simple procedure which utilizes the body’s energy meridian system as adapted from ancient Chinese medicine. It involves tapping with one or two fingers on a series of acupressure points on your face, body and hands while you are focused on a distressing thought. The tapping points are the same spots an acupuncturist might place a needle. The process releases the distress associated with the thought.
The mechanics of EFT are uncomplicated and easy to learn, whether you are five or eighty-five. Anyone who can access the internet can find video demonstrations of EFT. Various psychologists, life coaches and counsellors know and use EFT with their clients.
EFT was the first energy psychology technique I learned. I use it on myself whenever I’m distressed, whether it’s a present disturbance, a worry about something in the future or malaise about something that’s already happened. It was a huge help as I faced the death of my son last year.
EFT is often effective with physical pain. A woman found it impossible to focus because she was doubled over with menstrual cramps. After a few minutes of EFT the pain was minimal.
EFT has helped clients get rid of life-long phobias and debilitating beliefs like "I’m stupid." The Oregon State Beavers used EFT to win the College World Series two years in a row.
EFT has been a part of daily living for me for about seven years. Both for me and my clients the most difficult part about using EFT for better living is just remembering to use it.
Let’s get back to School Made Much Easier. If you have children in school, every issue is a school issue, whether it’s separation anxiety, fear of a bully, test anxiety or your own marital conflict.
Quoting Paul Widdershoven,
"…The foundational tool that School Made Much Easier will offer is a video library of guided EFT sessions. The library is divided into three Main Areas.
1. Students—Further divided into 4 sections for K-3, 4-7, 8-12 and College
2. Parents—For issues they face every day during their children’s school years
3. Educators—Both for issues they face personally as educators, but also to assist in using and implementing EFT into the classroom.
(The library) will contain a variety of 2-3 minute videos that are targeted at a particular issue…and age of the student…" Widdershoven, Paul, "EFT Going Direct to Students, Teachers and Parents," The Energy Field, fall, 2007, p. 7.
I salute Paul Widdershoven for bringing the benefits of EFT to school. After all, school plays a big role shaping the life of every one of us. My vision is that EFT will make school a more positive experience for students and make teaching those students a more fulfilling vocation. Of course, parenting happy children is a lot more fun than parenting distressed children.

I’m a big fan of EFT as well as many other energy psychology modalities. The intersection of the internet, some of the key findings of quantum mechanics and mind/body research is opening doors to wellness that up to only recently would have qualified as science fiction. The benefits from these non-invasive techniques have to be experienced to be believed. Many anecdotal testimonials will soon be supplemented with hard science as energy psychology begins to make serious inroads into the awareness of a general public seeking low-cost solutions to health issues. To try energy psychology yourself from the comfort and privacy of your home try a process called The Simone Zone at http://www.simonezone.com. It’s free, fun and easy to understand.
