My business is helping capable women and men who feel stuck.

I bring to my practice a range of experience in psychological counseling, life coaching, university teaching and business, but more importantly a lot of living.

Individuals and couples from all walks of life come for help when they are feeling stuck and need results. Besides helping them reduce stress and shed unwanted negative emotion, I can often help them restore hope, energy, balance and clarity of thought.

Many gain new insights and grow in consciousness and spirituality. Some improve in physical health as they shift their focus in more positive directions.

My mission is to help women and men be more self-aware and live happier, healthier lives. I am a holistic practitioner. Optimal mental and emotional health can be achieved when there is a balance of physical, emotional and spiritual energies.

I work with you as a whole person.

These are a few of the questions you might ask yourself:

  • Do I feel stuck in a stale marriage? An unhappy marriage? An abusive marriage? An alcoholic marriage?  All of the above?
  • Do I feel stuck in chronic underemployment?
  • Am I under constant stress and need some peace?
  • Am I single again and having difficulty adjusting?
  • Does my doctor tell me that I have an anxiety or depression problem?
  • Do I worry a lot?
  • Have I been through an extreme trauma that I can’t seem to get past?
  • Am I ‘relationship challenged’?
  • Do I sometimes wonder what it would be like to be happy?
  • Am I chronically angry?
  • Have I lost hope?
  • Does my future look dim?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, would you like to get unstuck? Then read on, because I help capable people who feel stuck.

Over the years many people have come to me for help. Some have found peace and happiness they didn’t believe possible. Many now experience joy in their lives.

Many couples who come with marital conflict are able to communicate better and are happier in their marriages. Triggers are reduced and the love is rekindled.

Other couples seek help in separating with dignity and mutual respect for their diverging futures. They are able to move on without the guilt and shame that was keeping them stuck.

Women and men stuck in unfulfilling jobs have tackled new jobs and businesses and have got their excitement back. Others have learned to redefine their work and are now enjoying it. Still others have retired early to take on projects they have only dreamed of.

Women and men with alcohol-abuse problems have put those problems behind them. Some have had to stop drinking completely, while others have been able to resume occasional social drinking without a problem.

Women living with an alcohol-abusing spouse have emerged from feeling hopelessly stuck to feeling empowered to make choices. With their own personal changes have come changes in the spouse, sometimes after many years of no change.

Many of my clients have overcome depression and the crippling effects of anxiety or panic attacks. Phobias have vanished.

People who have suffered debilitating traumas—sexual assault, childhood abuse, abortion, suicide of loved one, car accident, being fired—are now living normal lives again.

Focus of Treatment

My work is client centered. I use short-term, get-the-job-done methods including some of the new, cutting edge, energy-psychology therapies. This saves you time and money.

We may have to look briefly at the past in order to clear something that still holds you back. But our principal focus will be on the present as you create a better future for yourself.

Why will most people never go to see a psychologist in their lifetime?

Reason number one:

It would be completely impossible.

It was estimated that in the United States if everybody who could benefit would try to see a psychologist, and if every psychologist in private practice, government, military, education and business were available and able to counsel (for free), one in seven people would get to see a psychologist for one hour. There just aren’t enough psychologists.

Reason number two:

They don’t go to see a psychologist because they don’t need to.

Most problems that people face in life can eventually be worked through by using a variety of self-help methods. And then there are friends, family, career centers, your minister, your family doctor, etc. Most “problems” don’t require the high-powered help of a good psychologist.

Why might you still want to go to see a psychologist?

Reason number one:

You might see a psychologist because your problem is severe or even debilitating — depression, anxiety, a phobia, marriage in crisis, an addiction, tragic loss, nightmares, post traumatic stress, etc. This is the reason most people think of.

Reason number two:

You might see a psychologist because you want to quickly and efficiently get past your problem and move on with your life. You feel stuck, and you go to a competent and appropriate professional for help. You could possibly condense years of self-help and struggle into a few months or weeks … sometimes days.

And you see that kind of help as a high-value benefit you are willing to pay for.

Do contact me if you are feeling stuck.

With my warmest regards,
